FRoM ThE BeGGiNGinG!

It all began in Jan '11. Dreamin and Pillow Talkin. We started throwin around the idea of getting a travel trailer so I went on the hunt!! Checkin prices and brands..etc. It didn't take long to figure out that we weren't gonna be able to afford everything we wanted, so we decided maybe refurbishing an older model would be pretty cool and not near as expensive. The only thing with older model is you start running into "Vintage." And I'm sure as anyone can image that's when the price jumps for no other reason than there just aren't as many of them anymore so people feel like they should charge an astronomic amount of money for them. I mean really, some that I found were going to be ground up restores and for what? A fiberglass travel trailer that's not gonna last 10 years before it starts falling apart again. SOOOOOO, long story short we started looking at Airstreams!! When taken care of and maintained these things will last forever. Literally. There are people out there that have their parents '53 model and have only done some minor repairs and have maybe updated the interior to their liking. THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

So FINALLY I find one on Craigslist one day. It's in a little bitty town (population 83) south of Dallas about 200 miles. I'm emailing the guy, Levi's callin the guy. He's getting a ton of phone calls and emails about it so I'm freaking out wanting to go see it before someone else snatches it up. So the next day, Levi had to work so he missed this little road trip!!, I drive out to the guy's house...well the hardware store in town that he has it parked at..but anywho...I BOUGHT IT!! I could tell it needed a lot of work but the bones of it were good and it had a ton of potential. So that weekend we went and PiCKeD 'eR UP!!!
